Yes, Mac OS 6.0.3 was available previously (and addressed a lot of Mac
specific issues). And while there is no disadvantage to doing an
uninstall, going from an earlier Avid FX 6 version to Avid FX 6.0.3
doesn't require uninstall. As far as Avid FX 5.8 and Avid FX 6 on the
same system, one is 32bit only and one is 64bit only (and they should
each have their own file paths for everything) so I don't expect they
would conflict... but can MC 5.x and 6.x even exist on the same mac OS
boot ? (I guess I don't know for sure but suspect they probably do
not...) If not then it would be conceivably possible to still run Avid
FX 5.8 as a standalone, but you might not have any good reason to do
that.with Avid FX 6 installed
