Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Map Timeline Views to KB

With workspaces, you need to make sure the timeline name is exactly the same as the workspace name, otherwise it won't link. Toolsets allow you to define the setting by typing in a dialog box, but workspaces are dependent on having an exactly matching name to for the setting. I use the copy/paste function in the project window to manage the timeline view names. That way I make sure I don't misspell, add trailing spaces, etc.

Hi Shirley -
I toggle my workspaces a lot but it always keeps the most recent timeline view.
I just tried re-saving them with "activate settings linked by name" but no luck.
I must be missing something. Hmmmm.

With workspaces, I just make sure to name the timeline view the exact same thing
as the workspace, something like "Big A1&2 Dialogue" open up the workspace, and
then make sure "activate settings linked by name" is selected. The workspace can
be mapped to a keyboard location through the command palette buttons, and
recalling it will flip your timeline view as well. With toolsets, I use the menu
option "Link current to..." and type in the name of the timeline view in the
dialog box. Toolsets can also be mapped to keys of course as menu items, and can
now be used to flip your timeline view.
