Well they did admit they had been "Overzealous" in replacing the bars to meet the network spec of bars from 59:00;00 to 59:30;00 instead of my 58:30;00 to 59:30;00. I've delivered 7 previous specials this way and the network hasn't complained. The QC house is new for us but recommended by the network so they are aware of the network delivery specs albeit not the difference betwenn 75% ad 100% bars. As far as scope reports those are very problematic. I've spent many hours talking with the Tek folks on how to set the alarm thresholds to avoid erroneous error logs. Both HDCam and HDCamSr will trigger a Tek scope and other brands set to default alarm thresholds. The same show that play out Avid clean will light up the alarms on playback off tape so it is important to experiment and test to get a viable scope report. And as SP mentioned scopes don't catch drop outs and other errors that a human does. Given the prevalence of primates in the QC departments I highly doubt they are in a position to setup proper scope reports. In fact I've found most editors have just given up on trusting the scope alarms because no matter what you do even with a harris/videotek legalizer I still see little alarms go off. I try my best to avoid them but in the digital age they really don't cause the issues that happened back in the analogue world.
P.S. Bouke please note the time code formatting as QT Change compliant. ;-)
P.P.S. This email is not intended to put down, bad mouth or in any way defame Monkeys in any way shape or form.

Funny thing we got my master back and as I new from my sequence the master has 75% bars starting at 58:30:00 going to 59:30. Just like the last 5 of these specials we've delivered. Turns out they QC a closed captioned copy of our master which makes sense so they can QC captioning too. But what F&$#&U$ Monkey decided to relay bars and on top of that use 100% and then have the lack of sense to fail the master because of their internal mistake without checking our master. And I also found taking down the actual act start and stop time codes and not missing by 10 seconds on their report is also beyond their capability. Just when I thought the monkeys had enough bananas.
