I've just been asked about the gamut monitor and proc amp option for the Harris/VideoTek DL-860 legalizer and I've never had a unit with them. I read the manual and the gamut monitor provides an extra PCB with a bnc to output a 50% grey signal of the input format and if levels are low those areas of the signal are black and high levels are white. There is a control in % that at 0 is grey field and at 100% is the unaltered input signal. I would assume you feed a monitor and set a mix of the two signals so the grey scale is superimposed over the image to show where the errors are occuring. Does anybody have these options and knows the intended use. Also the proc option adds TBC like controls. For legalizing purposed I don't see a need for these options but I'd like to know more from someone who might have used them.
