[Avid-L2] Black Magic Hyper Deck Studio update

 

Howdy-

The good news is that a recently released beta of version 2.5 enables recording of embedded TC when recording from SDI. When I talked about this to support a few weeks ago, the support tech said he didn't think this was going to happen.

The bad news is that the Hyper Deck Studio will record at 23.98PsF, it will not play back as PsF. Support indicated that this can't be changed as the Hyper Deck Studio is playing back simultaneously to the SDI and HDMI outs and that HDMI doesn't support PsF.

In my world, this makes the Hyper Deck a rack space filler. I'll get around to making a feature request for this and hope that the tech is once again misinformed. Buyer beware.
