Mac Media Composer 5.0.4
When AMA linking ProRes QTs, sometimes they start at 58:30:03 instead of
58:30:00 with no End time listed. AMA Relinking fixes the start and end TC,
but there is some weirdness going on with the audio and video.
Before relinking, the bars and tone both start at 58:30:03 (first frame of
the clip).
Tone ends at 59:30:02
Bars end at 59:29:20
After relinking
Tone starts at 58:30:03 and ends at 59:30:02
Bars starts at 58:30:00 and end at 59:29:20
The whole clip is then 6 fr out of sync. The ending timecodes can vary from
clip to clip, typically resulting in 3-6fr out of sync. They play fine in
QT Player, and importing works correctly. However import doesn't work as
well with a workflow of transcoding to 36 and then relinking back to the
ProRes later.
Some ProRes QTs are fine, and have correct start and end TCs from the
beginning. I can't find any difference between the QTs that work and the
ones that don't just looking at the info in QT player. These are finished ,
delivered TV shows.
Has anyone run into this? Has the cause ever been discovered? I've seen it
come up in forums, but never with any answers.
