Cache-A can be either drive/software or library appliances (plug me in, see me work).  Storage DNA's appliance includes a nearline drive to help max out the transfer speeds. Both companies can plug in extra drives and write normal TAR files to tape as well.

Another technique is to use Rsync -either OSX or Linux- for backups
using LTFS at the same ~140 MB/s speeds. (

Mr. Jeff could you educamate me on this a little. Is the Cache-A a whole system or just a lto drive in this case? I know both Cache-A and Storage DNA have many solutions and configurations. Are you using Storage DNA to access a Cache-A LTO-5 drive? Just trying to get the broad stokes of how your setup works with the two products.
