http://www.avid.com/us/support/upgrade/video and enter the license key that should have been emailed to you to get a updater.avd file to upgrade the license info stored the dongle.
I would do this first as occasionally the web site is cranky and you need to call support. Of course you can run 5.5 as a demo until the dongle is blasted.
Other than that, you should use the existing MC version uninstaller in the Avid_Uninstallers folder.
