For item #2 please try running enableFontSmoothing.command
Applications/Utilities/Avid Utilities/AppleFontSmoothing/enableFontSmoothing.command
Quit all your applications first. Run the command. Restart. And let me know if that fixed it for you, because I'm not having that problem you show in the clip.
