To me it now looks like the dissolves at the beginning and at the end of the program are causing the export to be "Avid DNxHD Codec" instead of DNxHD 185 X (1080i).
Additionally said Bars&Tone got imported into DNxHD 185 X but when exported from the sequence it looses the "X". I don't mind since the Bars in this case are only for a visual audio-queue and not for reference, however, getting them dumped to 8bit is not what I expect here. Media Creation is set to 185 X btw.
So: even if all is set to 185 X it appears the final export will contain three different Codec-types: "Avid DNxHD Codec" (whatever that's supposed to be) on the render files, "DNxHD 185" on the imported and transcoded Bars&Tone and "DNxHD 185 X" on our multicam recordings.
Maybe I need to rephrase my question then, it looks like "Same as Source" is not sufficient for this task - creating a QT-setting "Custom" and then switch do 185X does the job.
The standalone is done by experience: quicker (in copying) - and we were under some time-pressure here...
Thank you guys!
