In Avid, when you have a group clip, you have the option of switching
just picture, or picture and sound with each camera cut. I usually cut
picture only and don't have to switch the sound because we usually use
dual-system sound, with the cameras carrying backup mixes. One could
always use add edits and then switch thru the various choices with
either picture or sound.
