I love my Timbuk2 Messenger bag I have the Commute 2.0 Room for the 15" MBP laptop in a zippered compartment and all your peripherals will fit in the big main compartment. BEST laptop bag I have ever had and for the majority of the last 10 years I have been taking public transportation to work in NY and Boston, so lots of walking.
Also great for flying it is TSA compliant, so my laptop stays safe in the bag just unzip and unfold, no remove.
