So I've had this before in the past a few times and just worked around it
but I'm starting to notice a trend. I'm on a Mac 10.6.3, Avid 4.0.5 Mojo DX
trying to online a show from another editor who has the exact same Mac
tower the only difference is he's running 5.0.4 (or whatever the last
update was for 5.0) and when I open his sequence the Internal RAID on my
system doesn't show. We render to the RAID and place show media on one of
six Dulce System drives we have. The offline editor does the same except he
doesn't have a Dulce. He just uses a couple external G drives when
offlining where his media is. The AEs at night will then move his media to
one of my Dulce drives and then prep the shows. This is the third time now
I have gotten a show to online from him and only him, where the RAID won't
show. It happened about a year ago and now has happened twice in about a
month. Two completely different shows that don't share anything like GFX,
common elements or b-roll.
Any other project I open the RAID shows and works just fine. The RAID never
goes away from the desktop and I can import bins and elements from the RAID
into the problem projects just fine. The RAID even shows under "Media
Creation" when I open the project with no bins open, it's just when the
sequence is opened that the RAID will go away. The annoying part is the
RAID in the problem project will show back up intermittently. The last show
I worked with, after re-creating titles to one of my Dulce drives the RAID
showed up after a re-boot of Avid and stayed there for most of the day,
then out of the blue disappeared. None of the media or renders on the RAID
went away, I just lost the ability to render to it. The AE last night told
me the RAID was there for most of the prep for this new show but when he
went to render out at the end of the prep it was gone.
I make a new project when I go to online so it's not a project issue and
I've also made new sequences and cut in his edit into the new sequence but
the issue will still arise. The RAID then will also not show up after it
disappears in ANY project until I re-start Avid. Anyone had this and know
what I'm missing or what needs to be done. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.
