RE: [Avid-L2] Re: FR: Add Export Features, like Batch and separate channels

Terence

How bout getting Mr Kammes to demo ContentAgent as well ?

This is precisely what we built it for and it will check stuff into
Interplay and make printed DVDs on a Rimage DVD printer / burner if you
want.

I had a talk with Jeff Krebs a few days ago (old time Lers know who he
is) and he is at Eyeon now. This sounds like one of the workflows that
Eyeon could facilitate. Even though it is known as a compositing
platform, apparently they have done a tone with scripting and this sort
of stuff can be automated easily.

I haven't played with it yet, or seen any of this done, but Jeff will
bee demoing it at the January Editors' Lounge. Maybe he will chime in
here on how to accomplish these things.

export it as multiple times with different settings and not have to be
in attendance to change setting. Like exporting a sequence once as AAF,
then as a PhotoJPEG QT full res, and then as a h.264 QT half res.

would be nice if I could from a singe sequence that I don't have to
duplicate choose to export the Picture track by itself as a QT. Then
export audio tracks 1&2 as mono AIFF. Then export audio tracks 3,4,5,6
as a stereo mix down to an AIFF. And then audio tracks 7,8,9,10 as a
stereo mix down to an AIFF. Which is basically what the trailer houses
ask for. Picture with separate Dialog, SndFX and Music stems.

track 1 is it's own QT. Then video track 2 is it's own QT, etc. And same
for the audio. Each audio track is exported to it's own AIFF. VFX
vendors sometimes ask for this so they can see what is happening on each
layer of an effect that we are sending then a guide reference on.

resize, crops, and audio effects. Sometimes it's nice to see the raw
source material in the reference. Helps when doing line up sheets for
element pulls.

base would not benefit from them much, and that the last 3 are probably
all dependent on the batch function. But I think that many would benefit
from being able to batch export to different settings directly out of
Media Composer and not having to use something like Ref QTs and
Compressor.
