(staring mournfully at his original Mac 512K in the corner)
Dennis - I am half in agreement and half in disagreement. Yes, they've turned their back on us, but they're opening their arms to a WHOLE LOT of other people. I think Apple will be just fine. My local Mac store is PACKED 24 hours a day, seven days a week (or so it seems). When the first Mac store opened in Chicago it was empty almost whenever I went in. It seemed so open and big. Now the same exact store is cramped and crowded. As a professional I'm pissed off and feeling betrayed - between FCP X and the imminent demise of MacPros - but as a consumer, I want to make daily visits to the Mac Store, the App Store and to One Infinity Circle. I don't think I spent more than 60 cumulative minutes NOT touching an Apple product yesterday (laptop, MacPro, iPad, iPhone). Plus, after buying AppleCare for my 2 YEAR old laptop, they are unable to fix a problem I'm having and just told me that they would replace it with a BRAND NEW LAPTOP! Holy crap! Talk about the best $300 I've ever spent (on AppleCare). They build brand loyalty and are creating "switchers" and new adopters at a record rate. I suck as a stock analyst, but Apple's not going anywhere just because the people on this listserve and the FCP-L are mad at them.
