[Avid-L2] Re: uncompressed hd quicktimes for color correct

 

Forget all this native editing nonsense with Canon 1D/5D/7D footage. Follow the workflow I've outlined here and you won't get burned.

As far as color correction, I have done quite a few jobs mixing Alexa and 5D footage, which were graded on Baselight. The Alexa files are ProRes4444 and the 5D files get converted to ProRes. The graded footage all comes back as ProRes4444. The 5D intercuts nicely, although it's used for tight, hand-held close-ups.
