Why would a 64bit machine be any more of an expense for a MC5 owner -- than a MC5.5 owner? If you are still running in a 32bit environment -- your hardware costs will be exactly the same.
Using this rationale to attempt to offset the pricing frustration of MC5.5 owners makes no sense at all.
It's simply illogical.
