Oh but shuttle time allowed you to review the material each time you searched for a shot. That part I kinda miss. Still possible on Avid but for some reason it just doesn't feel the same to me. And now the only thing I pick up during an edit session is a wacom pen and an occasional digibeta tape or even lighter tape stock. I miss those 6 pack abs from 1 inch tape crunches. Heck I would have been a monster had I worked in 2 inch. Maybe if they could start making the hard drives and memory sticks really heavy I could get back in shape.

After years of shuttling and racking 1" video tapes, I SOOO loved random access to footage. "What? You mean I don't have to put the other reel up to cut in a shot from the second half of the movie? NO WAY!!! That is so awesome! And I don't have to shuttle for 5 minutes to see a scene at the end of the reel? I just CLICK? TOTALLY COOL!"
