[Avid-L2] MC6 TWO QUESTIONS: Write to internal drive and DNxHD options

So, I upgraded to Lion and MC6 last night.

I am really liking the nice clean MC6 interface. This looks like a GUI for this century. Congrats to Avid on a nice looking release…I haven't played with it enough to comment further… I haven't had any of the missing windows issues others did… the download from Avid servers took over an hour...

TWO questions:

I remember seeing a brief warning that in 6 it won't see my internal drive as a drive that media and renders can be written to, but there was a workaround given. I thought it was just changing the read/write permissions. I did that. The system, and me as a user, both have read write permissions for the internal drive. This is on a MacBookPro/Lion10.7.2/MC6.0. The MacBookPro is 2.53Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

I also went in to settings and deselected all of the check boxes about not writing media to drives too slow for the resolution of the media, boot drive, etc.

1) I'm still not seeing how I can transcode a bunch of AMA clips (that are on the internal drive) to DNxHD files on the internal. This is just for training purposes, so I don't care about the drive being too slow or whatever.

2) While I'm at it… it looks like my transcode options are limited to a single flavor of 444 DNxHD at 350Mb? There's also an uncompressed option and a ProRes option… I wanted to compress to some "near-line" quality DNxHD similar to ProRes LT. I'm assuming that's a hardware upgrade?
