Squeeze works/writes to a temp file. Sounds like what you are seeing is Squeeze writing the "real" file to the drive. Processor usage dropping to zip would be normal, cuz all thats going on is copying one file then renaming it. You can verify this by opening a window to the drive you are writing to and you see a file with a temp name and a file with the name you would expect to see. The final file will keep increasing in size. If you are doing an uncompressed or any large file output, this part of the 'squeeze' can take as long as the compression. Freaked me out the first time it was happening also.

Ok -
I got my EX 3 workflow down. Edit, video mixdown, export reference
file, compress in Squeeze.
Having a major problem with Squeeze though. One file it just refuses to
compress. It's a 45 minute long presentation and when Squeeze gets
within 3 minutes of the end of the compression, processor usage goes
almost to nothing, and it just sits there. Compression is 2 or 3 hours
so it's a major pain when this happens. Everything else compressed just
fine. I can let it go, and it just sits there indefinitely between 2
and 3 minutes left.
Anyone have any ideas on that one?
