Deleting a file generally only deletes part of the filename, leaving
the data to be overwritten by future files. There are "undelete" or
file recovery utilities available that can do this, as long as the
data has not been overwritten yet. I don;t know what's available
today, but I've used Norton Utilities on PC drives in the past.
First step is TURN OFF THE DRIVE. And don't use it again until you're
ready to attempt the file recover.
