HI,
When I first started working with Avid Xpress DV I mapped a drive over a LAN and it would not work. To the best of my knowledge, without Lanshare, Avid would only access local drives. After that, storage prices dropped by huge amounts and faster transfer protocols like USB 2.0 and external drives convinced my to stop trying.
