[Avid-L2] Re: Remote play

Greg - we use a MC vers 3.5.9 and have the Remote Play activated.
We use it as a 'source vtr' under the control of an Editware Fastrack in our Time Tailor room & it works fairly well. Jeff's correct about the cable, its key. Our eng dept decided to build our own (I know, I know)and it took them several tries to get it right.

Once you have the cabling set up you'll need to change a few user setup parameters like Deck Config, Communication Serial Ports and change to COM1 (that worked for us).

If by chance you are using a Fastrack from Editware to drive the Symphony, I can tell you that Bob & Jay from Editware have been extremely helpful to us. They're great guys, very knowledgeable, and quite willing to spend time making sure you get it right.

feel free to email me if you have any further questions

Hope this helps

DB
