But you can tweak stuff in the SR in both downconvert and upconvert. And IMHO it's more tweakable than the Mini.

Items 930-961 in the SRW-5500 menu give tons of tweakable controls for the process. And some of them have very interesting and drastic improvements to the conversions. For example, the V-FILTER setting (944) improves the downconvert dramatically. They built a lot into it, and the machine defaults are tame compared to the results you can get with a little tweaking.
