The Thunderbolt thing is cool. And maybe BMD is fearing for the future of the MacPro...
We are announcing Resolve for Windows (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/press/pressdetails/?releaseID=25111). Users will be able to swap back and forth between Mac and Windows on a single license. This will be available in early 2012. Also with Resolve, we are shipping version 8.1 (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/press/pressdetails/?releaseID=25110), which includes ACES colorspace support, new effects, improved AAF and Media Composer workflows and support for MacBook Pro 15". And we are now including Resolve Linux free with the purchase of a DaVinci control surface. This is a $19,999 savings. (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/press/pressdetails/?releaseID=25109)
New products include the Intensity Extreme, a Thunderbolt based HDMI and analog capture and playback device that is Thunderbolt powered so it needs no power supply. It will be available in Q4 for $299. This is our second Thunderbolt based product. We recently started shipping the UltraStudio 3D capture and playback device in August. Heavy Duty Mini Converters: 4 new models of Mini Converters that are machined from a solid block of aluminum. They also include 3 Gb/s SDI, redundant SDI inputs and an international power supply.
