well, the short story:
If you import an EDL, you get a bin with offline master clips.
If the EDL contains the file names, you can batch import all the offline
clips where you only have to point Avid to one file, it will find the rest
by itself.
On import, all the metadata in the bin will be assigned to the imported
clips, as if they were logged and digitized from tape.
