As I said earlier, alphanumeric (letters and numbers) names for the folders
worked fine for me.
My experience a few years ago was that Avid would happily read these
folders, provided they already had the proper database files. It just
wouldn't write to them, or re-scan them if you manually changed the
contents.
Not sure if the fact that Avid re-scans folders with any numeric-only title
is a new thing (since v3, when I last used Avid), or that I didn't realise
because I never named folders that way.
