Where I come from, it's always been option or alt/C, no shift required, unless you have some special mapping going where the copy function is on the shift side of your keyboard. To clarify, I think it's only option/alt combined with the copy function, wherever you have that mapped.

I made a mistake in my statement about copying a segment to the source monitor.
The command is not alt-shift-c. It is ctrl-shift-c, I just tested it on my mc
5.0.3 installation. I have not tested it on MAC but it is probably the same.
