Re: [Avid-L2] Connecting two MacPros via dual gigabit ethernet and multipathing?

It's called a crossover cable, and the last time I talked to an IT smart guy
(which I'm not) I was told most modern ethernet ports auto-detect that kind
of stuff so you don't even need the special cable anymore (I have no idea is
this is true - I had a crossover cable already so I didn't try it). Have
you tried plugging them into each other to see if the shared drives show up?

I used to do this with 2 Dell systems. One was an edit machine and the
other was the backup/archive machine. I can't remember how I set it up,
though, and I've never done it with Macs. Sorry.
