The trick is two-fold.
1. Re-install snow leopard.
2. Go in and make sure you are running the 32 Bit KERNAL.
Don't do those, and it won't work. A Snow leopard re-install will be 64 bit when placed over a lion install, the firmware gets set that way.
Once you have that done, install Media Network client.
No whining.
