[Avid-L2] Re: Lower End Reference Monitors

As the final installment on this soap opera -- I heard back from Sony Engineering regarding my last PVM OLED questions. For anyone who might be interested:

Question: How frequently might I need to calibrate the PVM in a post production environment?

Answer: Depending on usage, you should check it between every two weeks and once a month.

Question: Will I will need to calibrate it more frequently towards the end of the OLED lifespan?

Answer: No, the period between adjustments would not change

Question: How long will the OLED display last, in a post production environment where the monitor will have 8 hours of use per day?

Answer: 30,000 hrs. So 8hr's a day for 5 days is 40hr. 52 weeks in a year x 40hrs. is 2080 hrs. 30,000 hrs would be 14 years.

Hope this information is useful to someone.
