Terry,
De-activatation is ONLY required if you are not using a dongle and ARE using software licensing. Secondly the dongle doesn't need to be updated if it is already updated to 5.5 as any 5.5.x release will work with it. Also for you SW licensing peeps... any serial # that launched MC 5.5 will launch 5.5.1, 5.5.2 and 5.5.3.
As for patches.... they are only offered on the PC side. Mac is a full installer.
Mac - Uninstall previous version completely. Download and install MC 5.5.3
PC - Patch - use this IF YOU HAVE 5.5.2 INSTALLED. Don't remove 5.5.2 = just run the 5.5.3 patch over it. If you have 5.5.1 then you must remove it and download and install using the full 5.5.3 installer. The patch will only patch/modify 5.5.2.
Lastly, we are aware of the slow downloads from the Download Center and the web folks are working to correct it.
I am out this week coming up and wont be on email during the day but will be checking at night so if you email me - might take a little bit longer to get back to you.
