[Avid-L2] OT: Cat DV & .MTS files

Hi all,
This is OT but I thought I'd ask to see if someone might have a solution. My brother is working in Premiere with is AVHD camera using the native .MTS files. He would like a data base program such as Cat DV that could read the files without having to convert them or do some strange hack to make the video work. He does mostly videos for a K-12 district where he needs to quickly search for images of "Bill" that he shot 5 years ago while he's putting together graduation stuff.

Does anyone have a solution that might work?

i export quicktimes with media to ame with terrific results. I also export ref qt's to tmpgenc with great results. the key with both apps is to interpret the footage to match your export settings.
