[Avid-L2] Looking for advice for Alexa MC workflow

Hi all,

We're looking at offline alternative workflows for a documentary shooting dual Alexa @ ProRes4444 Log-C and double-system sound, all to be mixed with a large variety of stock and archive footage. Client wants to take grading and online to Scratch and Smoke, so I'm looking at a decent maze of possible media management pitfalls here.

Transcoding for offline in MC: We will need work with an intermediate format, to be relinked back to the Alexa ProRes originals AND various other quicktime files in grading. What are our alternative workflows for transcoding in this scenario, also regarding compensation for the Log-C in editing?

Can this be done in Avid via AMA, or would we need to go MetaFuze for the LUT compensation? Any other transcode options? Concerned also about the relink process here, as we're not going our usual internal DS-route for finishing. (And if anyone would rather recommend FCP7 with LUTs via FxScript please do speak up.)

Thanks!
K
