Thanks for your response. It means pretty much what it implies. We have multiple rooms to upgrade -- and the capital expenditure will NOT generate or be offset by increased revenue from clients. Therefore, we looking to achieve the holy grail of "good enough".
@Dave Spraker
Thanks for your feedback.
Are you referring to the DT-R24L41DU -- or to a different model?
I understand the inherent limitations of LCD monitors -- but what is your opinion of the detail available in the blacks?
And, do you have any thoughts regarding the monitor's vertical off-axis performance? More specifically, if your Avid monitors were 24" and were mounted very low to your working surface (say, only 3" inches above) -- and the JVC was sitting directly above your Avid monitors -- would you consider the JVC's performance to be compromised by being slightly higher than eye level? Would you feel it was necessary to "aim" the JVC at a slightly downward angle in order to achieve an on-axis orientation? Or would you prefer to put the JVC at the same elevation as your Avid monitors -- just off to the side?
Also, if you're using it, what is your opinion of the Calibration Software? http://tinyurl.com/63nlaoz And, which colorimeter are you using?
Sorry for the barrage of questions. Thanks for your feedback.
