Re: [Avid-L2] Progessive in an interlace project

 

I've done all that and not suprising Fluidmotion looks best. I am  concerned about the artifacts.
I actually tried Boris BCC Optical Flow and it looked very good.

It's best to go into the effect using Effect Mode and manipulate the Timewarp in there.  Sometimes takes a little practice.  I can't remember
the exact terminology, but make sure the "Input" is interpreted as Progressive and the "Output" is whatever your sequence is (probably Interlaced).  Fluidmotion will definitely give you the smoothest motion, but may have artifacts, as you can see, but getting the interpretation right will help.  If you recreate the motion effect and the Avid thinks your Progressive clip is Interlaced, things will sometimes look messed up.
