Re: [Avid-L2] OT: Re: Auto Hot Key

Amen! I've done probably 85% of my work on Macs over the past five years but when I come into a PC establishment I don't freak out I take five minutes to get into a PC mind set and go to it. Oh sure I bitch and moan that it's PC and not Mac but only to myself. HA!!!

I lug a wacom, expert mouse, monitor back light and black fabric to have a neutral background in the bays I work in. I also have a trunk full of tools and cables should and when the need arises. It's a reasonable desire for the editor but he/she should be prepared. As Pops use to say, "Do I need to wipe your a$#@% for you too." Just sayin and I'm on my second shift today so I'm just pissy and not full of empathy right now.

Place the appropriate fingers for alt and ctrl one at a time into the vice and torque down just enough to hold the finger in place. Using a rubber mallet so you don't leave scares, whack until the fingers are bent enough to invert the keystrokes when placed in the normal position over the keyboard. This will maintain the WMH's (Whinny Mac Head's) muscle memory and give him/her a great conversation starter. Once the project is finished your can straighten the effected digits by placing them back in the vice and torquing till straight. Repeat the process as ofter as WMH changes platforms.

The editor is used to editing on Macs and asked about installing Autohotkey (www.autohotkey.com) to change the Alt and Ctl behaviors. There seem to be a few different versions of this. Anyone have any experience with this? Are there issues? Which is the best version to load (or some similar program) that will do this?
