Re: [Avid-L2] For those who still think FCPX is a pro solution

This is classic FCP, because included in this article is a description of a really cool feature, the ability to trim on the sub-frame. Since day one, Final Cut has included ground breaking and sexy functionality, who's value is undermined by the pure, unadulterated contempt that Apple's designers seem to have for practicality, and their complete disconnection from the basic needs of editors. While FCP has focused on sexy innovation, the things I do a thousand times a day, patch tracks, enable tracks, lift and extract tracks, trim tracks, match frame tracks, and maintain sync I'd MUCH rather be doing in MC, and nothing has changed in that department.

I saw this link to a tutorial for a work around in FCPX. This is not for some
"pro" user who needs
OMF or XML. This is to let you do an audio dissolve at a different rate than a
video dissolve.
It seem FCPX will always add an identical length audio dissolve when you do a
video dissolve and you need
this work around to change the audio dissolve.
Absolutely unbelievable. I really have a hard time believing this is true.
