I've had luck using TransType Pro to convert fonts to otf or type1 and sometimes this will let Avid see the various fonts in a family. It's always a dance and sometimes all I can do is remove all similar fonts temporarily and only install the one font from the family I need. This is more for Avid title tool recognition. I'm not sure what new traps Windows 7 has added. I really don't understand why fonts have to be such a pain in the arse. Sometimes Marquee will see fonts title tool won't and vice versa. That's assuming I want to take the time to reeducate myself on Marquee every time I stumble on such a title. Let me be frank about this. Ask any producer I've worked with how I feel about fonts and they will universally respond with, "JOHN HATES FONTS!!!!!" It's a required chant in any of my sessions when I struggle with font issues. I thought purchasing Trans Type Pro on my old Vista PC laptop would end my problems but then I was faced with trying to get mac fonts over to the pc for conversion. This involved getting stuffit so I could stuff the font file in some form so the research fork and the data fork get combined so the pc trans type pro can then see and convert the font. All and all it's just a big cluster F*^%*. I'd buy someone an Oki dog it they could learn me a thing or two about fonts.
