But what if something newsworthy happens at the event, such as a crime, or an accident? What about all the news organizations that rely on viewer-submitted videos and photos to fill in the gaps of their stretched-too-thin news budgets? What about the public's fair use or free speech implications?

Seems to me this technology has a few legal issues to overcome. That said, never bet against the plutocrats.
