Adapt as best I can, and regularly have drunken kvetching session with other editors who also hate the tools!
There's also something to be said for pushing on the companies who make these products to try and get what you want. They don't give users everything they ask for, but a lot of features in both products are the result of user requests/complaints. If all you do is adapt, nothing ever evolves the way you want it to with the software.

Of course, I'm probably in the minority here, as I think the MC interface has
long been in need of a complete top-to-bottom overhaul.
