RE: [Avid-L2] Batch import problem

And this is not only the case with AMA, when using file based media that you have stored on local storage, that is indexed by Avid i.e MXFs within an AvidMediaFiles folder, you may also find it useful to open all the bins pertaining to the sequence to help with relinking. I had asked about this on the forums but no one could really help me as to why, with non-AMA material stored on permanently attached local drives (e-Sata), i need to open all the relevant bins to relink, it doesn't make any sense as the file location is fixed and the media is already indexed by Avid? Maybe someone on the list can help? As far as I'm concerned, Tape names are a must for all file based media, even if all it helps you do is track down where a file came from later on. You will thank yourself for bothering to add that small piece of metadata when you need to conform.
