Hi Greg,
MediaSilo follows best practices as outlined by MPAA for security, A hacker will have an extremely hard time even entering our DMZ and if they get in all communication between servers and beteween server & storage is encrypted. Also nothing is kept as plain text on our servers, especially passwords (if Sony had done this simple SOP they would not have been hacked!).
At the end of the day NOTHING online is 100% secure, if you are tech savvy enough you can steal it even the best current Adobe security solution "SWF verification", if you have a disgruntled employee he can give out his PW.
We are looking into forensic watermarking embedded into the baseband of the video to backtrack theft as a more cost effective solution to DRM (which also can be broken) and does not require a set top box. The issue is it is still EXPENSIVE, high 5 figures a year for a 4 node license and most clients just cannot afford it.
Feel free to give me a ring if you want to hear more.
Erik

If you want to donate to Red Cross quake relief, you can do so through your cell phone. Text redcross to 90999 to make a $10 donation. It will be on your next cell bill.
