[Avid-L2] Media Tool in 5.0.3 on a Mac getting NO RESULTS

A client sent me multiple TV episodes on a USB drive to produce promos. The shows were digitized on some MXF capable version of Avid and transferred from their servers to the USB drive. In addition to the media, they sent me a bin with the clips and sequences in it (but no project, which I think was the right thing to do).

There are video master clips in the bin that they sent, but no audio master clips. But there are sequences where they synced the 10 audio tracks with each video track for each show. I can see the video, but the audio is off-line. Option to relink is greyed out.

I'm trying to figure out if my "Avid" is "broken" or if they didn't send the audio tracks.

So I go to the Media Tool. Select the drive they sent and choose ALL projects, then click the choices for Media Files and Master Clips. I get NOTHING in the resulting bin.

I can see that the video is there (in the source or record monitor and the bin doesn't show anything in the "offline" column), so at least the video should show up. I figured that they possibly used multiple project names to digitize the shows (hence I selected "ALL PROJECTS"). What could be causing me to get no results when I know that there's media on the drive? (The drive has an Avid MediaFIles folder, with an MXF folder inside that, with a 1 folder inside that. I can see maybe 200 mxf files inside the 1 folder. I see moving video of the shows in the Source window. And the USB drive is seen by the Finder AND the Avid AND the Media Tool.

When I put the clips in the timeline and turn on audio waveforms, I get nothing. I tried changing the sample rate in the project. I also turned on Clip Color>Offline and the audio shows up as RED.

Thanks for any help. If the answer isn't readily apparent to anyone, don't worry too much. I think I really didn't get the audio, but why doesn't the Media Tool at least show me the video that I'm SURE is available with the drive selected, ALL Projects selected and everything else selected except precomputes. BTW, there are no effects on any sequences, audio or video.

Bug? Operator Error? Maybe the setting on the Media Setting needs to allow for the USB drive somehow? I've copied all the media to my RAID, but I don't want to search my RAID for all media and all projects.
