Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Hopeful news for Symphony

Terry,

I agree with that. However, by now, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The statement that there will be "worked on ways to distinguish" only means something to me because they somehow managed to convince _you_. By itself, the statement has no impact on my perception of the product.

What has been lacking is not just development, what has been lacking is a vision.

On the forums, I stated "we need a roadmap for Symphony". No replies from anyone at Avid. None. Along came NAB. Apparently, no Symphonies in the booth.

So, while they may be working on "ways to distinguish" MC and Symph, there's no way for me to get as much as a single clue where they are planning to go and if that is going to make any business sense for me. In the meantime, I have paid premiums on upgrades and support contracts for several years (only last month I ranted so much that they dropped the upgrade price difference between Symph and MC).

I want to know where they want the product to go. And I'm not the only one.

Job.
