I think that served as the boot/media drive as well, didn't it? The later Mac IIci had its own internal HD (80mb I recall) and by that time the 1GB 3200rpm Imprimis Avid drives were out and all the way down to $3800.
That IIci had a 25Mhz processor and shipped from Avid with a whopping 8MB of RAM.
And Color!! w00t!!1!!!
