I read AVC Intra is different than AVCHD. Both are H264 but as you said AVCHD is long gop while AVC-I is all I frames. I'll bet that was what my confusion was regarding a consumer version. Now I have to wonder how I could possibly be working with AVCHD in a "professional" environment. According to google searches AVCHD is for consumers. But my shows go out on cable networks etc... why would they be shot on a consumer camera? ;-) I guess I'm just building momentum for the race to the bottom.
