I agree. Avid will not be able to pull it off. There are so many core quality issues with media composer that any added Symphony features would be built upon a foundation of oatmeal.

Those problems are not acceptable in Composer and certainly would not have any place in a so-called higher end product.

They would have to be fixed first. My 17 year history with Avid products generally suggests they are not capable of it.

There would also have to be a lot of new Symphony only wrinkles added to provide additional value. And not artificially restrict Composer in a very competitive market segment with FCP X and a rising star in Premiere.

Plus this is the 3rd time I've heard a promise to elevate Symphony.

And I believe the majority of users would prefer a unified product, including Symphony owners like me.

All cheap talk until something is physically demonstrated.

I heard this is yet again a "new Avid" that listens. I have yet to see it regarding anything that really matters.
