Just wanted to pass along some helpful/useful info provide by Bryan Castle at Avid:

Last week, Media Composer 5.5.2 was released.
This release includes a large number of important bug fixes, including a fix for one particular "Bus Error" on Macs.
For those of you already on Media Composer 5.5, this is a recommended update.

PhraseFind and ScriptSync Trials! Media Composer 5.5.2 includes a 30-day trial of both ScriptSync and PhraseFind bundled with the installer.

New Function! Media Composer 5.5.2 also includes a new feature that has not gotten a lot of press yet, but I wanted to call it to your attention.
With MC 5.5.2, you can now apply Start and End keyframes to any effect through right-click options in the Effect Editor.

There was also a change that made "Linear" the new default animation curve, instead of Spline.
