[Avid-L2] 1080 to 720 levels Q

 

I have a film on HDCam SR 422 1080p 23.98 sf. I am trying to capture
at 720p 59.94. What is happening in 720p is that whites seem to be
showing at 110IRE and blacks at -10 on the scope. It is most apparent
with titles. I noticed during a white title on black background. In
1080p 23.98 the white title is at 90 and black is at 0. If I switch
the deck to output 1080i 59.94 everything is fine. If I use the
Format converter in the deck, the levels are off. If I use the
Teranex Mini to convert 1080 (i or p) to 720p I get the same problem.
Any ideas?
